Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which Samsung TV models is the BN59-01385A remote compatible with?

A: This remote is designed as a replacement for the BN59-01385A model and is compatible with Samsung Neo QLED and Smart TVs manufactured between 2020 and 2023. If you are unsure whether your specific model is supported, check your original remote's model number printed on the back — if it reads BN59-01385A, this is the correct replacement.

Q: Does the solar panel fully power the remote, or are batteries still needed?

A: The solar panel supplements battery power by harvesting both indoor and outdoor light to extend battery life considerably. However, the remote does still require 2 × AAA batteries (not included) for initial use. The solar charging feature helps maintain charge levels so you replace batteries far less frequently.

Q: How does the RF wireless connection differ from a standard infrared (IR) remote?

A: Unlike traditional IR remotes that require a direct line of sight to the TV sensor, this RF remote uses Radio Frequency technology, meaning it can transmit signals through obstacles and from wider angles across the room — ideal for open-plan living spaces or setups where the TV is partially obscured.

Q: Is any pairing or setup required before using this remote?

A: In most cases, Samsung Smart TV replacement remotes pair automatically when you point the remote at the TV and press the power button. If automatic pairing does not occur, the included user manual provides simple step-by-step instructions to complete the pairing process manually.
